Swinburne University Chief Scientist Professor Virginia Kilborn says the James Webb Space Telescope has allowed clouds to be seen on the surface of Jupiter “for the first time”.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration released a series of images of Jupiter on Monday taken by the James Webb Space Telescope.
“What we are seeing are these absolutely beautiful images that we haven’t seen before of Jupiter taken in infrared light,” Professor Kilborn told Sky News Australia.
“We are going to get detail we haven’t seen before.”
