A mobile speed camera was almost towed after it was found parked in a clearway.
Transport for NSW said the car was parked on a temporary clearway on Cabbage Tree Lane in Fairy Meadow.
A tow truck arrived but the driver moved the car out of the way.
Transport for NSW deputy secretary of safety, environment and regulation Tara McCarthy said the vehicle was not towed.
“The driver moved the vehicle once they became aware the temporary clearway was in place as part of the World Road Cycling Championships,” she said in a statement.
“As a result, the enforcement session has been deemed invalid and fines will not be issued.
“Transport for NSW is working with the vendor to investigate the incident.”
